British cameraman James Friend was awarded an Oscar in spring 2023 for his work on the film ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’. He just held a Film Lighting masterclass as part of Aputure Flex Munich.
“We had the honor of supporting the Aputure Flex event in Munich, featuring Oscar winner DOP James Friend BSC ASC and gaffer Harlon Haveland, during the Euro Cine Expo. We supplied camera, lenses, camera grip, and grip. The two-hour masterclass was fully booked and granted deep insight into James Friend’s work on the movie ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’.” says 711RENT, thrilled about the event sponsored by them.

A proclaimed ‘Alien’ fan, James Friend became a member of the British Society of Cinematographers in 2015. And he only has the best to say about his job : “The craft never stops evolving. I have never had the same day at work since I have been behind the camera. Collaborating with new people, with fresh ideas in different environments, and that every day, offers new challenges. It’s a craft that allows you to imbue a story with your imagination.”
James is also a member of the Guild of British Camera Technicians and is a full voting member of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. At the end of June 2023, Friend also became a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The all-electric Smart EQ is definitely the star of the streets. Photographer FELIX EISENMEIER staged several stories all about the agile vehicle. We present you the first three mini-spreads that turned out great here on GoSee.

So enjoy and focus on what drives you, focus on fun, and focus on the good things in life!” Daimler subsidiary SMART has completely bid the topic of combustion motor farewell in 2020, making it the very first purely electric brand built by the carmaker.
All three Smart models currently available are still leaving the assembly line in Hambach, France, at the moment. But all future Smart models will be built in Ningbo, China, a coastal town in the eastern Chinese province of Zhejiang approximately 150 kilometers from Shanghai. Mercedes and the Geely Holding Group (Chinese automobile and motorcycle manufacturer) founded by pioneer Li Shufu started the 50:50 company Smart Automobile Co. Ltd, which exclusively manufactures electric cars. The first vehicle of this new partnership will be an additional Smart model in 2022.
