Daniel Blaufuks 'The Days Are Numbered' - Re-experiencing the Fleeting Moments of Everyday Life

Over the years, Daniel Blaufuks (b. 1963, lives in Lisbon, Portugal) has engaged in a daily exercise of poetry, introspection, meditation. Each day, on a sheet of paper, he meticulously creates a composition combining his instant photographs, found images, documents and words in the languages he speaks (English, Portuguese, German, French), before stamping it with a number.

Entitled The Days Are Numbered, this vast project resembles an imprecise daily notebook - Blaufuks refers to it as a “non-diary” - at the intersection between individual and collective memory. Nourished by a succession of states of mind, manifesting the eternal return of things, seasons, places or facts, The Days Are Numbered challenges our programmed amnesia.

“A diary is also an act of resistance.” — Daniel Blaufuks

Sheriff Gallery, Paris, presents "CAMPUS STELLAE", an exhibition by Edoardo De Ruggiero, curated by Sophie Strobele
'Two years ago, I had the honor of accompanying a 15-year-old boy on a transformative journey through nature. Together, we walked 1550km over the course of three months. Now, it’s time to share this story. In partnership with Sheriff Gallery, I invite you to join me for the opening of Campus Stellae.' Edoardo De Ruggiero

Sheriff Gallery presents "Campus Stellae," an exhibition by Edoardo De Ruggiero, curated by Sophie Strobele. A teenager from a foster home, at a crucial turning point in his life and facing an ongoing criminal trial, walks with an adult. This is his last chance—a 1,550 km journey through the harshest landscapes of winter, a closed-door experience spanning three months. Each day is a choice: to move forward or return to the past situation. The road becomes a metaphor, where each step might signify a new beginning or a return to old patterns.

Edoardo De Ruggiero is an artist and filmmaker whose work primarily focuses on the intricate nuances of storytelling and the impact of narratives. Through the interweaving of photography, text, archival images, and collages, he process his work into a performative practice that connects the intimate sphere to collective representations.

Particularly dedicated to the art of book creation, Edoardo’s works have been exhibited in Paris, New York, Leipzig, and Milan. His photographs have been featured in publications such as i-D, Der Spiegel, Vogue Paris, Esquire, and L’Express Magazine.

From 28th of Oct to Nov 2nd
Vernissage 30 Oct from 6:30 PM
