ECHO is a series of digital collages about the negative impacts Narcissistic abuse has on its victims and survivors, and how the abuse is prolongued even after the end of the relationship with a narcissist through the hands of society, media, family & friends, co-workers and the narcissist‘s enablers. The name ECHO derives from the antique myth about the nymph Echo who fell in love with Narcissus, but was met with devaluation and was later on discarded by him, which resulted in her becoming ill and eventually led to her death. What ECHO went through is more than common for victims and survivors of narcissistic abuse and psychological violence, which oftentimes leads to chronic illnesses, depression, PTSD, suicidal thoughts, and might also result in the victims suicide.
