Honda celebrated the 50th anniversary of its legendary Gold Wing with the special model shown here and brought photographer JEFF LUDES along to capture every aspect of the motorcycles. The resulting footage includes plenty of lifestyle, detail, beauty shots, and, of course, running shots! For three days, Jeff and his team drove the motorcycles through the Los Angeles area—from the desert to the beach.
The Honda Gold Wing is a heavy-duty touring motorcycle with a water-cooled four- or six-cylinder boxer engine and shaft drive. The first model, the GL 1000 with 1000 cc displacement, was presented in the fall of 1974 at the IFMA in Cologne on the Rhine. Honda Motor Co., Ltd. considers the Gold Wing its flagship—developed and built for motorcyclists who demand the highest levels of comfort, safety, and weather protection on long journeys.
For its 50th anniversary, the GOLD WING is treating itself to new colors, improved features, and sophisticated paintwork... available starting at €30,990 for the Gold Wing and €39,990 for the Gold Wing Tour with airbag. Incidentally, the first 1,833 buyers of one of the anniversary models will receive a correspondingly limited-edition Gold Wing model in a 50/50 livery of the current and 1975 GL 1000.
After the dust had settled, the daunting task of image selection and post-processing began, with Jeff also handling this important aspect of the shoot.

Transportation specialist JEFF LUDES recently teamed up for a personal project with fellow photographer Aaron Smith, known for his spots & lifestyle imagery.
With two unique perspectives, and two cameras blasting away, they came up with this shoot : "I joined forces with Aaron Smith on this little whirlwind of a personal shoot! With two cameras blasting away, each from our own unique perspective, we came back with just a ton of cool stuff."
Over a day on the Westside of L.A., the two chased around a pair of models in this amazing 1987 Mustang convertible, ending only for burgers and fries as night fell.

For his latest personal project, transportation photographer Jeff LUDES set out to capture a true 90s classic: the Isuzu VehiCROSS. After an extensive search, he tracked down the perfect example in Idaho, where the stunning natural landscape provided the perfect backdrop. With the car and location in place, all that was left was post-processing. Jeff applied a careful blend of color and mood, bringing the final shot to life.
