'Why not shoot in Rotterdam this time?' JAN RUINARD PRODUCTIONS asked Torsten Gatterdam, creative director of MEY & EDLICH, one of the leading German online shops for stylish and sustainable men's fashion. Mey & Edlich is the oldest German mail-order company still in operation and was founded in 1870 in Leipzig. Today, the brand belongs to Walbusch Walter Busch GmbH & Co. KG.

After visiting Amsterdam in 2021, the brand wanted to work again in the capitol of the Netherlands : "After we suggested to come to Rotterdam this time, we sent over an extensive location overview of this city from our files. This included the beautiful beach area only 30 km outside the city center, sailing clubs and marinas, all architectural highlights of Rotterdam and an abundant number of other places in the city center."

Eventually the creative team of Mey & Edlich worked for three weeks in Rotterdam, the first half with photographer Torsten Ruppert and the other half with photographer Bodo Rickassel.
