The WDR Symphony Orchestra of German broadcaster West German Broadcasting looks back on a long tradition of presenting entertainment of the highest musical quality, ranging from classic operetta to film music, which is a special focus of the orchestra, or even easy listening.
Following his work for the WDR Symphony Orchestra in 2022 and 2023, photographer DOMINIK MENTZOS had the great honor of photographing motifs once again for 2024. The WDR Symphony Orchestra regularly performs concerts dedicated to famous works of film music, including pieces by composers John Williams and Hans Zimmer. Musicals are also part of the repertoire. The orchestra is known additionally for its crossover projects at which classical music is combined with modern and popular music genres.
The WDR Symphony Orchestra often works with pop, jazz and rock musicians to create unique musical experiences. It also organizes special concert series regularly, such as children’s and family concerts aimed at making classical music and jazz more accessible to younger audiences.
Closely affiliated with broadcaster WDR, the orchestra is frequently part of radio and television programs, making it one of the most renowned musical ensembles in Germany. The WDR Symphony Orchestra, which has also made a name for itself internationally with its broad repertoire of diverse styles, tours Europe and works regularly with guest conductors as well as internationally acclaimed soloists.

DOMINIK MENTZOS presents the new JURIS 2024 campaign here on GoSee with new motifs that are an addition, or better further development of a project from a while back. Plus, Dominik is among the 24 photographers of the BFF from the regions Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland, who are exhibiting their work in a monitor installation as part of the 30th season opener of the Frankfurt galleries from 6 to 8 September 2024. The exhibition is a collaboration with the Holy Cross Brewing Society.
The opening took place on 6 September and started at 6pm.

For the DRESDEN FRANKFURT Dance Company, it’s the beginning of a new era. In this 2023/24 season, dancer and choreographer Ioannis Mandafounis has taken the helm as Artistic Director and now heads the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company together with Annika Glose. The new ensemble consists of seventeen dancers, and its first premiere took place on 15 November in Frankfurt.
And DOMINIK MENTZOS will continue to accompany them with his camera. We present you his first portraits of the ‘new’ company.
The home of the Dance Company is at its two residency venues, the HELLERAU – European Center for the Arts in Dresden and the Bockenheimer Depot in Frankfurt am Main. As an ensemble which is highly in demand internationally, the company regularly embarks on guest performance tours.
The Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company was formed in 2015 from the free ensemble of The Forsythe Company. After the first ten years of the company, Jacopo Godani took over artistic direction of the ensemble which has since performed under the name of Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company.
