MICHAEL HANISCH photographs for PORSCHE DESIGN feat. the Chronograph 1 – 2023 in the Austrian Alps

Photographer MICHAEL HANISCH was on the road in the Austrian Alps together with the agency M&C Saatchi to stage the legendary Chronograph 1 with Ferdi Porsche. At an altitude of 2000 meters, the team set out early in the morning to catch the first rays of sun in the mountains.

Manufactured at Porsche Design’s own watchmaking facility, the chronograph is reminiscent of the unique, pure design of the all-black timepiece from 1972. Following in the footsteps of its revolutionary predecessor, the chronograph catches the eye with its matte black dial. The crown, clasp and dial bear the Porsche Design logo of today while the sapphire-crystal case back reveals the iconic Porsche Design winding rotor. The double-sided, seven-layer anti-reflective and scratch-resistant sapphire-crystal glass with hard coating ensures optimal readability. The tachymeter and date display bears the current Porsche Design lettering while the minute hand features the unmistakable rectangular shape of the original baton hands, updated with a pointed tip for the most precise indication on the surrounding minute dial. Diameter: 30.00 mm. Water-resistant up to 10 bar (dynamic).

Photographed besides the different product models were also various Porsche vehicles. From the brand-new electric Porsche Taycan, to the streamlined Porsche 911/964 or even the 550 Spyder race car (from the 1950s) – a number of fascinating automobiles were part of it.

To go with the atmospheric photos shot in the Alpine landscape, a short image film was produced in parallel. The Creative Director responsible was Gabriel Mesquita, and styling was taken care of by Daniela Pörner with hair, makeup & grooming by Sabine Högerl. Post production and grading came from vividgrey.

Michael is a photographer and director from Berlin. He studied Photo Design at Lette-Verein in Berlin and graduated in 2009. Ever since, he has been busy photographing in all corners of the globe, collaborating with his creative peers – creating imagery for local and international brands alike.

MICHAEL HANISCH presents the new RENAULT TRAFIC campaign, photographed with strong storytelling for Publicis Conseil and Renault in Valencia

Michael HANISCH realized the campaign for the new RENAULT TRAFIC, with both dynamic flair and elegance expressed in its modern design. Following an extensive round of scouting in advance, Michael and his team chose the greater Valencia area as the perfect hub for the shoot.

“The idea was to present the vehicles in a realistic environment with lots of emotion. The viewer remains a silent observer of the atmospheric scenes. We tell stories which are staged with the help of strong characters. We find ourselves first in front of the studio of an artist sending off his perfectly protected works. Then in a further scene, we watch the construction of a boat hull in a carpentry workshop. We continue to watch as a deliveryman goes about his work, then find ourselves on a construction site with unusual architecture, and finally, we see the entire model fleet arranged in a semi-circle at the port shortly after sundown. The atmosphere is cinematic and full of life. The spread is supported by single shots of the models,” the photographer tells GoSee.

It was photographed on commission for Publicis Conseil and produced by Prodigious. Post production was taken care of by vividgrey & GoSee Member STEFAN EISELE. “A big thank you goes to the fantastic team without whom the production of these numerous motifs would not have been possible.”
