EVENTS GoSee Tip : ‘Tokyo Is Yours’ by Meg Hewitt at the CHAUSSEE 36 PHOTO FOUNDATION in Berlin

30.11.2023 • Berlin’s CHAUSSEE 36 Photo Foundation presents ‘Tokyo Is Yours’ – the first exhibition by Australian photographer Meg Hewitt in Germany (18.11.2023 – 27.01.2024).

‘Tokyo is Yours’ is a black & white series created in Tokyo between 2015 and 2017. Of particular interest to Meg Hewitt is life on the streets of Tokyo. The scenes have cinematic qualities. People meet, odd situations arise and disappear just as quickly. Meg Hewitt, born 1973 in Sydney, studied sculpture, painting and media. Since 2010, she has devoted her life to photography.

The cycle shows Hewitt’s deep reflection on Japan, and particularly, the uncertainties and fragility after the catastrophe in Fukushima. The ecological disaster of 2011 almost led to the evacuation of Tokyo, a city with more than thirteen million inhabitants. The title ‘Tokyo Is Yours’ was taken from graffiti written on a city wall.

Meg travelled to Japan seven times between 2015 and 2017. Each day, she would walk around town for twelve hours at a time, going on strolls through parks, stopping by bars at night or the zoo… and even traveling to...

EVENTS Cooler than the Arctic and Antarctic together : the WWF demands for the festivities at the end of the year : ‘TRANSFORM A CHRISTMAS TRADITION INTO CONSERVATION’

20.11.2023 • Accenture Song and C41 proudly announce the release of the campaign for the WWF Conservation Collection. Rather than the ordinary Christmas sweaters we are all used to, the WWF Conservation Collection invites us to gift one of the four designs from the collection, made of 100% recycled and sustainable wool, to support the conservation efforts for four endangered species.

Directed by Alice Fassi and produced by C41, the video campaign opens with a nod to classic fashion films, where models often walk aimlessly, striking static and senseless poses. However, through a light-hearted yet effective tone, the narrative takes a turn as the voice-over engagingly highlights the features of the Christmas sweaters, causing the models to shed their traditional fashion personas and embody the movements of the animals depicted on their sweaters.

Models transform into creatures of the wild : one sits on the floor, playfully biting a Christmas tree like a panda; another lies belly-down, moving like a turtle; the third, with the stealthy gait of a tiger, crawls behind a small tree, shifting branches to...

EVENTS UPDATE-24-BERLIN promises double the fun ! – UPDATE Salon is taking place on two days in 2024 – Save the date : 18+19 April, 2024

14.11.2023 • There’s still a little while to go – but we wanted to get this out there already nonetheless. Since UPDATE Salon was literally bursting at the seams in 2023, and you could hardly even find time to eat with all the appointments, conversations, hellos and ‘nice to see you!’, … we’ve decided to extend the event to two whole days of UPDATE for the 2024 edition : 18+19 April, 2024 – and where else but Telegraphenamt, Berlin.

Day 1 is as usual – i.e., attendance is reserved for art buyers, art producers, direct clients, magazines, ADs and CDs.

Day 2 gives creatives who register through GoSee – in other words, photographers, stylists, artists, … – the opportunity to visit the salon, too. Definitely an interesting target group for production companies, location agencies, HMS agencies, post producers, … not to mention agents who want to make appointments at the salon.

Of course, many of the art buyers and art producers will be at the event on both days. Because it’s probably no secret by now that Telegraphenamt is not only excellent for meetings, it’s also a great place to spend the...
