The culinary classic Wienerwald is back ! The first restaurant just opened at the Torfhaus in the Harz Mountains, a frequently visited tourist destination. The rotisserie chicken will, of course, remain the headliner. No more pork though. Playing a major role now instead are vegetarian and vegan dishes alongside bowls as well as traditional dishes and desserts with a modern look.
Christian KERBER c/o MONDAY IN MAY photographed the campaign presented here for the German fast-food legend WIENERWALD.
And just as the revitalized restaurant brand has announced its comeback, they already make an appearance at ANUGA 23 in Cologne with the Wienerwald Roadrunner®. At the heart of Roadrunner® is a shop-in-shop concept enabling the restaurant to also offer customers the bestselling products on the Wienerwald menu to go.
“The Wienerwald Roadrunner® Clip-In concept is, in our opinion, an impressive solution to add a delectable new facet to an ever-growing to-go market. On not much more than 35 sqm, we showcase a large part of our restaurant’s standard dishes and snacks to go and eat right away. And we do it all with an absolute minimum amount of personnel.” Thies Borch-Madsen, CEO of Wienerwald.
In the future, Wienerwald fans will find the Wienerwald Roadrunner® with various Wienerwald dishes to go at gas stations, highway service stops, at airports, in railway stations and other places frequently visited. At the moment, they are currently examining whether the restaurant chain’s Wienerwald Roadrunner concept can be expanded to other European countries.
Further restaurant openings are already planned for Hildesheim, Dresden and on the northern German coast of the Baltic Sea. Wienerwald is the brainchild of Austrian restaurateur Friedrich Jahn (* 29 December 1923 in Linz; † 15 December 1998 in Bad Wiessee, Bavaria). The Wienerwald brand has been acquired by Family Brands Operations Company GmbH in Hildesheim.
