The first season of 'Die Discounter' was released on December 17, 2021, and the fourth and final season for the time being was released on Prime Video at the end of 2024. In the series we meet security chief Jonas again, played by Merlin Sandmeyer - including his trademark: the reddish mustache. Amazon's own German production has become a surprise hit since it launched on Prime Video in 2021.

The fictional supermarket 'Feinkost Kolinski' from the series 'Die Discounter' can actually be found in Hamburg or the main filming location of the series: it is the former Aldi branch on Kieler Straße in Hamburg-Stellingen.
The series comes from Little Brothers writers, producers and directors Oskar Belton, Emil Belton and Bruno Alexander. Christian Ulmen, Carsten Kelber and Frank Buchs from Pyjama Pictures are responsible as producers.
