Laura Ponte was photographed by Stephanie PFAENDER c/o SHOTVIEW for DNA Magazine. The Spanish model never imagined she would one day be in the spotlight. As a child, she preferred to stay unnoticed—it was her mother who urged her to come out of her shell. But then fashion found her, and everything changed. In the 1990s, Laura became one of the most sought-after top models, appearing on covers and in editorials around the world. Today, at 51, fashion is still part of her life—but on her own terms. After her success on major runways and in front of the lenses of renowned photographers—Harper’s Bazaar named her one of the three highest-paid models in the world in 1996—Laura chose to step back. She turned her focus to design, first launching a jewelry line, then her own bridalwear label just before the pandemic, which she continues to design from her home studio.
