The Theodora Foundation was founded in 1993 with one goal: to bring laughter, joy, and precious moments of happiness to children in hospitals and facilities for children with disabilities. Every week, the foundation organizes and finances visits by professional artists – the Giggle Doctors – to hospitals and specialized care centers.

The Giggle Doctors are special doctors who bring dreams to life with fun and laughter. Their valuable visits take place weekly in 32 hospitals and a children's hospice in Switzerland. Tailored to the individual needs and condition of each child, the Giggle Doctors spontaneously use their imagination to not only bring joy and laughter to the young patients, but also transport them back to a childlike fantasy world, far removed from the reality of the hospital.
In memory of their mother Théodora, André and his brother Jan Poulie founded the Theodora Foundation in 1993. Today, more than 30 years later, the Theodora Foundation has 68 Giggle Doctors working in 32 hospitals and 27 specialized care centers.
