The 37th edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères is taking place from Thursday, the 13th through Sunday, the 16th of October, 2022, in the Villa Noailles in the south of France. Since 1986, the festival has promoted and supported young international fashion design, and since 1997, the competition has also been open to emerging photographers. Since 2016, a competition has recognized young fashion accessory designers.
This year, the festival is also celebrating the 100th anniversary of Villa Noailles. Upon previously engaging in correspondence with Mies van der Rohe and Le Corbusier, Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles, affluent and influential members of the Paris intellectual scene, commissioned architect Robert Mallet-Stevens (1886–1945) in the year 1923 to plan their villa on an inherited property in Hyères.
At the beginning of the 1930s, Marie-Laure de Noailles had already made a name for herself as an equally creative and eccentric art collector and promotor; an art patron of the avant-garde, particularly in the areas of Cubism and Surrealism. Which in itself is reason enough for a celebration befitting the occasion.
This year, the festival is once again delighted to receive high-profile support in the form of partnerships with Chanel, le19M, Première Vision, LVMH, Hermès, American Vintage, Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, le Défi, Galeries Lafayette, l’Atelier des Matières, Mercedes-Benz… all for the new generation of talent from the areas of design, photography and accessories.
In the fashion, accessories and photography competitions, each of the ten finalists in the three categories have already been chosen. The jury members will announce their final decision at the event, and the winners will take home extremely attractive prizes as every year.
Taking place over the course of these four days is a complete cultural program – and not only at Villa Noailles : full of exhibitions, fashion shows, hands-on workshops, embroidery, masterclasses, book signings, film documentaries, DJ sets, live broadcasts from the fashion shows, vernissages, dance performances … and, of course, racy parties until deep into the night.
We, for one, will certainly not be the least bit bored at the 37th edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères.
