Super model and ‘queen of green’ Amber Valletta lends the CLOSED Spring/Summer 2021 campaign her beautiful face. Amber Evangeline Valletta, mother of a son, was born in 1974 in Phoenix, Arizona, and is of Italian heritage. In her days as a model, she adorned the covers of various slicks – and went on to gain fame afterwards as an actress. Thanks to her unrelenting commitment, her name stands today for environmental awareness and sustainability. Which brings us to CLOSED : CLOSED fashion and accessories are handcrafted in Europe – with the smallest environmental footprint possible and under fair conditions for the employees. Closed tells us confidently about Closed : “German tradition, French imagination, Italian craftsmanship. Unique. Desirable. Sophisticated. That’s CLOSED.”
GLAMPR not only produced the campaign – but was also in charge of art direction for which it closely cooperated with the in-house creative team at CLOSED in Hamburg. GLAM PRODUCTION : “The complete shoot took place remotely – with the client dialing in from Hamburg to supervise it.” The campaign was photographed by David Roemer, Jarrod Lacks styled Amber Valletta with hair by Teddy Charles and make-up by Mélanie Inglessis.
“OUR NEW SUMMER COLLECTION IS ELEGANT, FEMININE AND EFFORTLESS – GET READY FOR DRESSES, SUMMER SUITS AND KNIT SETS IN BLACK AND NATURAL COLORS.”
CLOSED is available, besides in Germany, also in Italy, Austria, Switzerland, France, Holland, Belgium, the UK, Russia, and the US with around 50 Closed shops worldwide. The main collections for women and men appear four times a year. The program is complemented by cashmere textiles, shoes and accessories.
A responsible and environmentally conscious policy has tradition at Closed. For this reason, the company launched the ‘Fair. Since 1978’ campaign in September 2017. Starting in Italy, the primary production site, Closed gradually started informing its customers about how, where and with whom the company produces. For around 40 years, Closed has had its jeans woven, sewn and dyed by hand exclusively by three Italian family businesses. There has also been an ongoing cooperation with two cashmere producers in China and Italy since the 1990s. The lambskins for the jackets are 100% by-products of the meat industry and made by a Spanish tannery, a family business in the seventh generation. The quilted jackets do without down feathers today, and the leather bags come from factories in Portugal. In total, more than 85 percent of Closed products are manufactured in Europe.
