‘The Californian Job’ is about Jeffrey Meier’s passion for the Lamborghini Miura P400, which was realized visually by ANKE LUCKMANN: French car magazine AUTOHEROES was so thrilled about the spread that it used it for the cover story ‘The Californian Job’ in an extensive feature article.
How it all happened? Anke tells us here on GoSee. “Lamborghinis have accompanied me ever since I had the honor of photographing the Lamborghini calendar years ago in the hallowed halls at Sant’Agata Bolognese – the birthplace of this design icon. I fell in love with the golden Lamborghini Miura there at first sight back then.”
“Through the images of this shoot, I met up with other Miura owners – which is how I got the idea to do a personal project in California with Jeff’s orange beauty, a Lamborghini Miura S, P400. A masterpiece by Designer Bertone. A barn find in original condition. Inspired by the legendary film ‘The Italian Job’ from 1969, I created my own interpretation in February, 2020. I found the perfect location to do so in California on Mulholland Drive near LA with its sparse beauty and the wonderfully winding roads up in the hills. The shoot was also followed by a curious flock of ravens who seemed to be watching us attentively the whole time. Even though I didn’t get to drive myself, the ride in the passenger seat was breathtaking and deafening – just 50 cm above the transverse mid-mounted V12 engine... So big thanks to OG Jeff for this amazing shoot!”
And if someone reads this who still has a Miura in the garage – please get in touch with Anke Luckmann, preferably with a photo. And who knows, it could be the beginning of a new photo love story…
