JEFF LUDES photographs a personal project with the AUDI A5, combining the breathtaking fall colors of Pennsylvania with the subtle green hue of the car
JEFF LUDES wanted to stage the AUDI A5 with plenty of contrast. To do so, he took it to Pennsylvania with its oak forests, picturesque mountain ranges and clear lakes – where the change of seasons makes for such a breathtaking natural scenery. “I headed to Philadelphia for my latest personal project shot with an Audi A5. I timed the trip to catch the area’s famous fall colors, the perfect complement to the subtle green hue of the car. Even the weather played along, providing the first day with moody rain, and the second with warm sunshine,” the photographer tells us.
In contrast to a well-orchestrated commissioned shoot, JEFF LUDES takes a run and gun approach to his personal projects. After an extensive round of location scouting up front by Jeff and his team, they quickly moved from one location to the next – and the result is plenty of variety.

After a false start shooting skateboarding, Jeff sought professional help and enrolled at Art Center College of Design in California. He graduated in 2002, and joined Fox a few months later. Following advice to "shoot what you love," he was surprised to find a provocative challenge in automotive photography- to make a product beautiful, in an image that creates an emotional connection.
