Only those who overstep borders are really free. The first BMW i8 Roadster embodies like no other car this urge for freedom and perfection: It glides almost silently top down under the clear blue sky and promises a roadster feeling like never before. In summer, GoSee member Jeff Ludes photographed the new BMW i8 Roadster with its eye-catching butterfly doors for Serviceplan. SONDA took care of production.
"Finally revealed to the public is BMW's newest sports car, the i8 Roadster, along with a refreshed version of the i8 Coupe. I had the pleasure of shooting these unique vehicles over the summer in Madrid, the perfect setting to explore light & shadow. Although guided by a shot list, together with the creative team from Serviceplan, I made sure there was enough time each day to hunt for unexpected opportunities and came home with a lot of shots that they couldn't have planned for. SONDA handled production of the shoot, ensuring everything went smoothly from start to finish. Since shooting a top-secret car on city streets wouldn't be a possibility, the team shot only the present version of the i8. RECOM created the updated parts in CGI, and worked with me to establish a very natural look & feel across the series of images," the photographer tells GoSee.
