Whoever has found a very personal mixtape in their mail box again over the past few days can consider themselves lucky to belong to a small and exclusive group of creatives who have received mail from photographer duo WE! shoot it c/o Kelly Kellerhoff !
“Back in 2021, we already had the idea together with Natalie Schneider Styling and PX5 to shoot a lifestyle spread on the topic of the mixtape,” Michael Compensis & Thomas von Salomon tell GoSee.News. “We soon came up with the idea to bring this brainchild full circle and send out a soundtrack to the spread, in addition to the photos, to creatives and friends in the advertising industry as real, handmade mixtapes.”
To go with the iconic 80s BMW 325i convertible and the modern retro styling of Natalie Schneider, the compilation of tracks is also on the 80s side. Hair & make-up were taken care of by Jasmin Meier, and PX5 in Munich was also in charge of layout and graphic design of the package besides the look & feel in post.
If you don’t have anything that plays tapes anymore, you can get into the groove on Spotify. Because, in addition to the tapes recorded by hand, the duo has also made the matching playlists available online.
