The new PORSCHE 911 continues to raise the bar for the future when it comes to exclusive sportiness. JEFF LUDES photographed the car at California’s Salton Sea and in the desert.
“I recently spent a day in the California desert with Porsche’s latest generation of one of the all-time greats, the 911. As on all my personal projects, the goal was to explore the locations, and look for the magic as it happened. The small crew started at sunrise with a drone and running shots, winding amongst sand dunes. In the mid-day light, we headed up rocky mountain roads, and then back down again to catch the sunset and purple dusk over the Salton Sea. Shooting entirely hand-held meant I came away with hundreds of options, and after careful selection and some color correction, here are the results.'”
After a false start shooting skateboarding, Jeff sought professional help and enrolled at Art Center College of Design. He graduated in 2002. Following advice to “shoot what you love”, he was surprised to find a provocative challenge in automotive photography – to make a product beautiful, in an image that creates an emotional connection.
