Shaped by wind and weather... ANKE LUCKMANN presents her personal work ‘Juniper’ on GoSee

Phoenician juniper (Juniperus phoenicea), also known as Arâr, is a plant which belongs to the cypress family (Cupressaceae) and is found throughout the Mediterranean region. It is the vegetable symbol of the island of El Hierro, one of the Canary Islands – and is exemplary for the resilience of nature since it can withstand the strongest winds and is able to adapt to extreme conditions. The plant can reach an age of up to 1000 years, and thanks to the its shallow root system, it is able to root firmly even on rocky sediments.

Photographer ANKE LUCKMANN presents you her personal work ‘Juniper’ on GoSee with portraits of ancient Phoenician juniper trees.
