Created together with photographer Nick Meek was the FULL-CGI series ‘M’, exploring the limits of photographic realism. Serving as the subject this time was the wedge-shaped sports car M1 with its characteristic pop-up headlights, which was only built 453 times between 1978 and 1981 (including 54 racing versions) and is nearly priceless today.
“We set out to see how far it’s possible to push the boundaries of photographic realism in full CGI, in this collaborative piece by photographer Nick Meek and post-production / cgi house RECOM. A sleek black M1 forms a dark dynamic wedge that interplays with the shapes of an abstract sculpture, created in an homage to Donald Judd. Walking around the sand and aligning the massive elements with the car, the viewer, like the photographer, can get lost in this creative exploration game.”
