TRANSPORTATION JEFF LUDES realizes a film and print campaign for the full-size luxury SUV INFINITI QX80 for Designory in Los Angeles

02.05.2022 • Designory commissioned photographer and director JEFF LUDES to stage the new INFINITI QX80. The sporty XL SUV from INFINITI offers luxurious seating for up to eight adults. “A design and engineering masterpiece, QX80 exudes luxury from every angle for every passenger. It’s generously equipped with thoughtful touches, with plenty of room to grow into. QX80 is designed to handle all of life’s roads so you can make memories with style and grace.”

Jeff on the motion & stills shoot : “The shot list really centered on the video, and the stills were an important value-added element of the shoot. With great weather in LA, we worked fast so we could get the most out of the daylight available and explore every corner of the locations.”

The DOP on set was Chad Huff, and part of it from Designory were CD Jesse Echon, AD Bryan Kestell, Copywriter Edgar Acosta and Art Buyer Mara Serdans. Production was taken care of by Anne Tower.

And a perfect emotional translation of the USPs of the Mazda CX-5,” Alexander Hofmann, ECD VMLY&R Vienna, tells us about the campaign.

“The SUV segment is one of the most competitive in the car industry, with numerous strong competitors. But with the 2022 Mazda CX-5, we have something to offer that’s unique : an SUV with the soul of a roadster,” says Dino Damiano, Senior Manager Marketing Assets at Mazda Motor Europe.

The Electrified GV70 is a have-it-all SUV. Dynamic and aerodynamic, minimalist and sophisticated. It balances athleticism with elegance, and performance with efficiency. The Electrified GV70 uses a number recycled materials. The yarn in its cloth and suede is made from processed plastic (PET) bottles and waste fishing nets, and the fabric used is made from recycled nylon.

The highlight is a 60-second main film produced completely in CGI, featuring thrilling perspectives and tracking shots as well as an aura of floating soap bubbles and its own, specially composed song ‘Space’.

“Launched globally, the campaign takes a broad communication approach covering all MERCEDES BENZ VANS of the private range. Each of the vehicles not only offers the comfort typical of the brand paired with innovative technologies but also more space – for families, hobbies, travel or to personally unfold. The shared core promise: These multi-purpose vehicles and camper vans give you the luxury of putting more individuality into your daily life and leisure time, and by doing so, set yourself apart. Expressed in a nutshell with the confident words of the claim: ‘Space maximized’.
